On the first day of fiscal 2018, the Sensex, Nifty rose above 1%; Today’s top gainers and losers »notebooks

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex are IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank, with Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India, HDFC Bank and TCS performing the worst.

On Thursday, April 1, the first day of the new fiscal year 2021-22 (FY22), the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty rose more than one percent. The NSE Nifty is above 14,650. Profits were managed by metal, public sector banks and auto stocks.


BSE Sensex 520.68 points or 1.05 percent bounced to 50.629.83. The top five earners of the day include IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, Ultratech Cement, Bajaj Finance and Axis Bank. On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India, HDFC Bank and TCS performed the worst.

Top BSE Sensex Beneficiaries:

IndusInd Bank: The bank’s share price rose 4.12 percent to Rs 993.35.

Kotakbank: The stock rose 2.7 percent to Rs 1,604.45.

Ultratech Cement: The stock rose 2.99.9 percent to Rs 98.45.

Bajaj Finance: The company’s share price rose 2.35 percent to 5,270.00.

Axis Bank: The bank’s share price rose 2.30 percent to Rs 13,135.55.

Top BSE Sensex Falls:

Hindustan Unilever: Shares of the company fell 1.29 per cent to Rs 2,399.45.

HDFC Bank: The bank’s share price fell 0.47 percent to 1,486.50.

Nestle India: Shares of the company fell 0.40 percent to 17,102.15.

TCS: Shares of TCS fell 0.37 percent and stood at Rs 3,165.90 to fix the day.

National Stock Exchange (NSE)

NSE Nifty The day rose 176.65 points, or 1.20 percent, to 14,867.35. The Nifty IT index rose 125.40 points, or 0.49 percent, to 25,980.40. Nifty Auto 1 rose 160,015 points, or 1.62 per cent, to 10,022.60 points and Nifty Pharma rose 104.50 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 12,377.

In contrast, the Nifty FMCG fell 57.15 points, or 0.16 percent, to 34,874.55.

At the top of the Nifty:

JSW Steel: The share price rose 91.99 percent to Rs 505.50.

Hindalco: It rose 6.56 per cent to Rs 347.30.

Tata Steel: The company closed the day at Tk 7.90, up 5.60 percent.

Adani Port: The stock rose 43.33 percent to Rs 7333.55.

IndusInd Bank: The bank’s share price jumped 4.35 percent to Rs 996.00.

Top losers in NSE Nifty:

Hindustan Unilever: Shares of the company fell 1.34 per cent to close at Rs 2,399.00.

Nestle India: The share price is 0.6. Percentage decline was noticed which closed at Rs 1,051.00.

HDFC Life: Shares of HDFC Life rose 0.55 per cent to Rs 692.40.

Device Lab: Shares of the company fell 0.05 per cent to close at Rs 3,610.00.

TCS: The stock fell 0.34 percent to close at Rs 3,167.00.
