Paris: The team said Thursday that Nico Hulkenberg has signed with Formula One lever Aston Martin as reserve and development driver.
The 33-year-old German has never won a Grand Prix, but it has proved to be a valuable asset while standing. COVID-19 There were casualties before the naming of Aston Martin last season.
“I hope this year Sebastian (Vettel) and Lance (Stroh) will enjoy a non-stop season,” he said of the team’s two full-time drivers.
“But the team knows they can count on me to take action and do great,” said Hulkenberg, who is 7th in Silverstone and 7th in Ann Enberg, when it comes to taking action against a weaker teammate.
Former Saber, Williams and Renault individuals said: “It’s great to sign a contract and Siber, Williams and Renault said it would be interesting to help the team develop this season.”
Otmar Sajafanur, CEO of Aston Martin, said he was happy to have Hulkenberg back in the F1 frame.
“In these difficult times, the need for skilled and experienced reserve drivers is especially important,” he explained.
“And Nico proved last year that he can jump into a car and perform brilliantly at a moment’s notice.”
Hulkenberg is the winner of the 24-hour Le Mans endurance competition.
