Revised ITR

To avoid punishment, Revised Delayed income tax returns for the financial year 2010-2014 must be submitted before March 30, 2021. Later, filing an ITR may incur a late fee of Rs 10,000. If your income is less than Rs.500,000, you only have to pay Rs.1000 as late fee.

Registration process for new users

Many of you will file your ITR for the first time and if it happens you will have to register yourself first. Go to the ‘New to E-Filing’ section on the IT department website and then click on ‘Register yourself’.

Then select ‘User Type’ and click ‘Continue’. Enter the details that verify for registration and check if it is successful.

You can file your ITR by visiting the official website of the Income Tax Department of India. Itaxindiafilling.gov.in. If you do not feel comfortable, you may encounter any questions, doubts or problems while calling 18001030025 ITR.

Steps to file ITR online:

Step 1: Go to the official income tax e-filing portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

Phase 2: User ID – Login to the e-filing portal by clicking on Permanent Account Number (PAN), Password, Captcha Code and ‘Login’.

Step 3: Click on the ‘E-File’ menu and click on the ‘Income Tax Return’ link.

Step 4: You will be directed to a new page, which will automatically contain your PAN details. Select ‘Year of Value’, then select ‘ITR Form Number’, ‘Filing Type’ as ‘Original / Modified Return’.

Step 5: Select ‘Prepare and submit online’ under ‘Submit mode’

Step :: Then click ‘Continue’

Step 7: Read the instructions carefully and fill in all the applicable / mandatory fields of the ITR form.

Step 8: Select the appropriate verification option under the ‘Tax Payable and Verification’ tab – a) I want to e-verify, b) I want to e-verify within 120 days from the date of filing, or c) I don’t want to – Central or Processing Center ( CPC), Income Tax Department, Bangalore – 560500 Verify and send to ITR-V by ordinary or speed post within 120 days of filing date.

Step 9: To view all data entered in ITR again, click on ‘Preview and Submit’ button

Step 11: Regarding choosing the ‘IE-Verify’ option, EVC / OTP can be registered and asked for EV-verification in any of the following ways

Step 12: EVC / OTP needs to be filed within a few more seconds, Income Tax Return (ITR) will be submitted automatically. The submitted ITRT should then be verified using the ‘My Account> e-Verify Return’ option or by sending a signed ITR-V CPR
