Google has updated its policies for the Google Workspace, according to which, from February 1, 2022, all slides, docs, sheets, drawings, forms or jamboard files will be counted according to storage. Blog post Prior to Google’s April 5th, Google announced that from June 1, 2021, all new photos and videos uploaded to Google Photos “will be counted as 15 GB of free storage with each Google Account or additional Google purchases as a member.”
Similarly, according to the latest update, any new docs, sheets, slides, drawings, forms or jumbo jets created after February 1, 2022 will be counted for file storage. However, documents created before February 1, 2022 will not receive free storage.
This change will affect administrators and end users. Earlier, Google announced Storage policy changes for individual Google Accounts Which will be effective from June 1, 2021. Changes will apply to previously announced photos and drives. Apply New changes apply to all users Google Workplace And G Suite license.
To check the storage, administrators can view the Photos and Drive section of their accounts. Businesses that have taken the Business, Enterprise, Education or G Suite version can go to the Help Center Use and Support section to check the storage. Users can also check the billing section of the admin console to check the details of their plan.
According to the blog post, changes to storage policies are needed to maintain storage requirements.
