All major political parties in Tamil Nadu have pledged to ban alcohol in their manifestos ahead of the April Assembly elections.

Firstpost visited liquor stores (operated by state-owned Tasmac) in the vicinity of Chennai to talk to people about how realistic this promise was.

Both were single window alcohol outlets and elite liquor stores. Most people at elite outlets cover their faces and leave quickly when FirstPost tries to talk to them. People at regular outlets are more likely to come up with their own ideas.

Do they really want to know about this promise? Watch the video to find out.
